Ronald J. Koach Jr. is a lifelong resident of South Bethlehem/Fountain Hill area in Pennsylvania. He was born at St. Luke’s Hospital on November 28th 1961 in Fountain Hill and is the son of Ronald J. Koach Sr. and Mary M. (Fagan) Koach. He has one sister, Janice, and one brother, Scott, sister in Law Wendy, two Nephews and. Niece.
He attended the former St. John Capistrano Parochial School Class of 1975 in South Bethlehem and graduated from Bethlehem Catholic High School and Bethlehem Vocational Technical School both in 1979. He also attended DeSales University and studied at the former Fr. Louis Brisson Seminary in Center Valley for the priesthood in the Diocese of Allentown. After embarking from the seminary he was general manager of the Hungarian Catholic Club and Later The Tally Ho Tavern. He was a long time Chef at Delta Upsilon Fraternity Lehigh University as well as their live in advisor for many years. Served as Pastoral Assistant at the former Our Lady of Pompeii, St Stanislaus, St. John Capistrano, Holy Ghost parishes all in South Bethlehem and as of late St Ursula parish in Fountain Hill.
Koach has been involved for many years in the Bethlehem community, Lehigh University and Diocese of Allentown committees and affairs. In September 1997, he received the Lehigh University Alumni Association “Good Neighbor” Award, recognizing his consistent and friendly interest in Lehigh University affairs and a most warm regard by the alumni body and 2001 a Lehigh Tradition of excellence award medal!
He also worked as a funeral director’s assistant at the Cantelmi and Former Madden Funeral Homes and has been active in many local civic affairs.
